I get so many questions about how do we communicate with Ty since he can't speak much English, so I thought I would put in this video clip for you all to watch. Ty will show you exactly how he is able to communicate especially when he can't come up with the right words.
We continue to discover more and more about Ty as time goes on and all the while he is soaking up everything that goes on around him. He did have a busy weekend. As Grandma said, he lost another tooth (Isaac wasn't involved), he got another haircut and he didn't mind it at all this time. Also, my parents have a pool in their backyard and for the last 8 years I have always been so careful with the kids, but the other day Ty went running out to the backyard with all the other kids and ran smack into the pool! It did have on the winter cover, but he still got soaked. He didn't cry, but I did feel guilty when he just stood there and looked at me like "what in the world was that?"! After he got changed I did try the best I could to explain to him what the pool was and to stay away from it. We also discovered that he LOVES spaghetti! He has asked for it and has eaten it every day since Friday when he had it for the first time.
We are also noticing that he is looking for us more often now, and I think he may be beginning to see us as his parents that will not be going away. Before, he loved everyone and would go with anyone. Now, even though he still loves other people, and was thrilled to sit with Big Jon and Julie during church this past Sunday, he is looking for us more often. Today we went to a McDonalds and had some ice cream. The kids were playing and I noticed that he was sticking close by. I noticed this only because neither of my kids stay close by, I am always having to look for them. Well, I noticed he was close by and when I got up to move closer (to watch my other 2) he ran over and asked "Mommy... stay here?" I told him yes that I was staying here with Ty, Isaac and Kayla. I explained this several times before I got a reassuring smile from him that he understood and was comfortable going to play again. Then tonight as I was leaving he wanted to go with me and began crying. It was almost enough to make me skip Bible study and stay home, but El said no, and that he would be fine. Sure made me feel good... all those weeks of me driving him back and forth to El's work because he missed El and he didn't give a rip for me! :-) You'll have to read the old blogs if you don't get that. Of course he still loves El. He watches him like a hawk and mimics everything El does. El put money in his pocket as he was leaving for work today and Ty picked up some money and tried to put it in his pocket too. It's seems that he absolutely loves having a Daddy to model after. You can tell that he has never had that before. He even has to wear El's deodorant and this morning he and Isaac were walking around in his shoes pretending to be Daddy.
Adopting a child brings about so many new feelings, and I am not a good one at expressing those, but I can say that I am so thankful the Lord brought this little boy into our lives!
