"BIG plane"

Last night at Awana was crazy hat night. Ty's only hat is this one that he is wearing in the picture and believe it or not he won 2nd place! He was so happy to receive the box of candy that was the prize and he just looks at me like "o.k....I'll take it but I don't get it".

The other night at dinner was so exciting for me because he began talking about his plane trip back from Ethiopia. I am dying to know about his life in Ethiopia but I am not sure what if anything will he remember and talk about. Well, all of a sudden he began talking about a "BIG plane...Daddy, Kassahun & Fitsum...girl...sleep BIG plane". It took me a minute to figure out he was telling us about his plane trip home, and was so excited to hear his version of it which was filled with lots of noises, actions, and single words! Using his method of talking, he told us about the big plane taking off, his sleeping with Daddy, his friends that were on the plane and that he came home/America (he still uses home and America as the same word). He was so excited talking about it and when I asked him if he liked the plane he kept saying "yes" with the biggest smile on his face! The best part for me was that he remembered who was there to see him at the airport! He told me that he saw me, Grandma & Grandpa. Kayla then piped up that she and Isaac were there too with Katie, Johnny, Uncle Steve & Aunt Christy. Ty said, "Uncle Steve no...Aunt Christy no". It seems that he has a better memory than Kayla because Uncle Steve and Aunt Christy were't there! I am amazed at his memory and can't wait to hear more from him about what he remembers as time goes on!
