Simple wonders
It is nothing short of amazing, to watch a child experience all the simple wonders of childhood that have never been offered to him, and to watch his eyes light up in sheer joy with each new discovery! Every day is a new adventure for him and to be a small part of that is an opportunity for which we will be forever grateful!
These last few days we haven't done too much except play. While observing him we have noticed that his muscles are very weak. His little legs don't even have enough strength to hold him up when he jumps or lands at the bottom of a slide. This is probably due to the lack of nutrition and opportunity. A year ago, he was brought to the orphange and they weren't sure if he would live because he was in such a severe state of starvation. I have to say that this child is a fighter and very determined. He has so much life in him and just keeps running, sliding, jumping, climbing and throwing... so that's what we have been doing!
Here is a short video clip of him and Kayla playing with Minnie (the dog). He and Minnie have gotten to be quite good friends and he is very impressed with her tricks! :-)

Well Jon just got home from basketball tonight and told me that "I love that Ty kid -- he's awesome." Jon said he loved playing with him and seeing how happy he was....he really enjoyed getting to meet him at basketball (and teach him all about "sweat").
Now THAT was fun! I love to hear you laugh, Kara!

Thanks Kris, the only problem is that I ruin the tape with my laughing because I laugh so loud you can't hear Ty! I am trying to work on that. :-)
Ty loved going to basketball and of course Big Jon too! All my kids love Big Jon! I wish I knew his secret.
