Bikes & stitches!

Here's Isaac! Yep, today we spent the majority of the afternoon in the emergency room! They had all been begging to go on a bike ride today and finally we took them so that we could get back in time for the game. It started out well, then Ty wanted to ride a 2 wheeler bike. So El was running along with him and he actually got the hang of it. Not great but did better than we thought. I have video if I can just figure out how to download it... they changed it around on me. Well, on the way back, Isaac and his cousin Michael were racing and came up to some bikes that were parked along the sidewalk (what a great place for them to be). It seems like Isaac was trying to avoid them or bumped one of them and lost control of his bike, flew over his handle bars, fell on his face and blew open his chin... all the way to the bone! We were still a ways from home with 4 kids and a dog! Isaac was covered in blood, which totally freaked him out, Kayla was screaming and crying (I'm still not sure why, except she was scared), Michael was standing there with huge eyes and Ty was wandering around after Minnie and another dog (quite the scene!) Some neighbor ladies were so kind to help by providing ice, wet towels and a ride home. I vaguely remember a lady trying to talk with Ty and being very confused because he wouldn't respond to her, in reality he acts like he is deaf because with new people he figures they are talking with us so he doesn't even pay attention to them unless they call his name. I can't imagine what they thought but that's o.k. I am sure later I will have a chance to explain. It was somewhat crazy! Like I said, one of the ladies loaded all 6 of us and a dog into her car and drove us home. There my brother and dad picked up the other kids and El and I took Isaac to the emergency room. Now, Isaac has blown open his chin before by jumping off the side of a pool and spinning around just in time to hit his chin on the side of the pool. That also required stitches, so we thought it was the same cut, but it wasn't. It was a brand new cut that went down to the bone! The nurse was telling El all about it and I just had to leave. I am not good with descriptions of major acidents, so I will spare you the details too! After it was all said and done, Isaac ended up with 9 stiches and a beautiful new cut right above his first one. He is going to have quite the chin by the time he is a teenager!

p.s. We did get home in time to watch the last few minutes of the game and see Ohio State go to the Final 4!! El was a bit worried about that! :-)
