This morning Ty got on our scale and weighed a whole whopping 6 pounds more than he did when he first got here! That means he has been gaining weight even faster than I have over this past month! Those of you who know the Ward family, know that we like to grow our kids big, hence Isaac... we don't want any scrawny kids running around here :-).... in reality, we couldn't have any scrawny kids even if we tried... we tend to be more on the "big boned" side of the fence, and my Grandma Ward was fabulous at teaching us how too eat! She would say that all that green stuff (vegetables) would make our stomach sick. I always LOVED going out to eat with her because she would order us milkshakes to drink with our dinner (of course no vegetables) and we would still get dessert later. It was a child's dream come true! Believe it or not, she is still going at age 89 and still eats fried potatoes and bacon for breakfast, but goes easy on the salt because of her heart. :-) Just a funny memory.
Here is a picture of Ty and Isaac playing in the rain. He LOVED it! I wasn't sure what he would think because in Ethiopia their motto is "13 months of sunshine". After I told them to come in I had to make a video clip of it because he just kept saying over and over that the "rain is cool". Thanks to his friend Jon Woolley he thought that the rain was sweat! Yuck! Thanks alot, Jon! After spending too much time inside because of the rain he began his daily argument of him going to work with Daddy. Now, he doesn't bother me to take him to see El... he wants to go to work and stay with El. He says, "me masarat (work) Daddy". I will tell him no that he can stay at home with Mommy. Then he says, "Mommy, massart". Hmmmm... I wonder what he is trying to get at! Well, Isaac says it in a little bit plainer English, he says, "Mommy, you should go to work because Daddy always has to work, and it's o.k. Mommy because there are alot of Mommy's that go to work". I am reminded of a song that a friend wrote about, "Love is in the house and the house is packed... Isaac and Ty finish the rest... Mom you can get out I left the back door cracked". My cup runneth over... :-)
