Carving Pumpkins

This morning Ty woke up to see something for the first time. . . fog! I had never really thought about it, but this morning when he came downstairs he was making such a strange face and kept looking out the window. I realized that it was the fog and he was trying to figure out what it was. I said, "Ty, what is outside?". He got a smile on his face, knowing that I was teasing with him, and said, "snow?'. . . "No, try again". . . . "rain?" was his second guess. I told him that it was fog and he could go outside and see what it was like if he wanted. So he ran right outside in his boxers and came running right back in. . . I asked him what it felt like and all he could say was "COLD!". It was very funny!

We worked on school work this morning and then carved pumpkins ALL afternoon. The kids have been wanting to carve pumpkins so badly, so we finally carved them today. It was funny because they were all grossed out by the insides. Ty was the first to buckle down and get his cleaned out, Kayla kept saying that it felt like somebodies insides and Isaac was just throughly grossed out by the feel. Despite the way he looks, he can be a bit of a wimp and Ty knows when Isaac doesn't like something and takes full advantage of the situation. Before I knew it they were threatening each other with hand fulls of pumpking pulp!! I was helping Kayla out and wasn't paying much attention till I heard them running around and yelling at each other and that is when I looked up to see pumpkin pulp flying through the air!! Oh my goodness. . . this is the last time I carve pumpkins with the boys without El here! Traditionally, it has been El's job to carve pumpkins with the kids. . . kind of like taking out the trash. . . it just fell on his plate and I have never said anything hoping it would stay that way. Well, when the weekend passed and the pumpkins weren't carved. . . I knew that he was passing the buck. . . Next year, El, you get it back!

We did finally finish and here are pictures of the end results! Not too bad. . . if I do say so myself!
