We had a birthday party for Ty on Saturday and here is a picture of him with his cupcakes! He was so excited for his birthday to come but I am not sure that he knew the whole party was for him until everyone started singing to him.... then his face lit up! He was so happy! It was a lot of fun, and he got a camera and a watch from his grandparents. That is what he has been asking for... along with glasses. So we got the bases covered for now. :-)
For the party we planned a carnival... BUT, what we didn't plan was the "tornado" that came through right in the middle of everything! Everyone was outside playing games and having fun and then we heard the sirens go off. I was a bit surprised because the sun was out and there was no wind blowing, but within 5 minutes El was telling everyone to go inside because a storm was coming in fast. Well, we did have about 100 people there so... what do you do when you are having a party and a tornado siren goes off in the middle of it...well, we don't take cover in the basement... no, we go to the garage and eat. Yep, that's what we did! :-) We had hotdogs and cake... with our "tornado"! It made for a good story. I am still not sure if a tornado really touched down, but we heard that one was spotted a mile away. Anyways, the storm was a bad one, but fortunately it did blow through fast and within 45 minutes we had everything set back up and the kids went back to playing! Overall, it was a great day, and I will be posting more pictures soon.
