Decorating the Tree

The favorite part of decorating the trees for the kids is putting on the star. They can't wait to find the star in the boxes and then when the tree is all done they get to put the star on the top. Traditionally, Isaac has always been the one to put on the star and Kayla has always graciously allowed him too. Then she will put the tree topper on the other tree. Well, this year they were telling Ty all about the star, and Kayla thought that Ty should be the one to put on the star this year, since it was his first Christmas. Isaac wasn't all that gracious about giving up the honor, but he did finally agree once Kayla told him he could put the topper on the other tree. Kayla is the one who likes to keep order... she is also the one who likes to take charge of putting up the ornaments and she happily gave Ty all of Isaac's special ornaments to hang up (since it was his 1st and he didn't have any ornaments of his own yet). She's funny... we did finally have to step in when we saw that Isaac was about to blow his top as she handed Ty Isaac's race car ornament. She got the point when I suggested maybe she give Ty her glass reindeer ornament to hang up instead. :-)

As you can see by the pictures.... Ty got to put up the star, but Isaac still had to at least sit on El's shoulders! He could give that up too!
