Heaven

One of the nice things about home schooling is I am the one who gets to answer all the kids questions and I know what is going on in their hearts and minds. We do have some lively discussions and one was about Heaven. We were reading the story about when Adam and Eve sinned and what are some of the consequences for sin (i.e. death, sickness, pain, etc). Well, the kids weren't too excited about the idea of death, but I told them at least we get to go to heaven when we die because we have Jesus as our Savior. Isaac was still a little unsure of what heaven is like and if it will be fun. I tried to explain heaven the best I know how, but he was still a little unsure and asked, "Can I at least take my golf clubs to heaven with me?" I had to laugh thinking that most men are probably hoping there is golf up in heaven. Ty caught on to Isaac's thinking and asked, "God give me very fast car in heaven?". Since the Bible isn't very clear as to if there are fast cars and golf courses in heaven I went ahead and wrapped up the conversation telling them that the Bible says we will have the desires of our hearts. I am just not sure if we will be thinking much about race cars and golf in heaven.... but who knows! :-)
